PGSA Families

As you can imagine, and as many of you know, the operation of our Club is primarily managed by a group of volunteer parents of players and a few paid positions that work diligently to maintain the club at the highest level. A lot of this work is behind the scenes and is managed via a patchwork of lists, spreadsheets, SportsConnect registration system, shared folders, tribal knowledge, etc. All the current systems and operating processes have served the club well in the past. Our recent and continuing expected growth has placed us at an inflection point where investigation into a contemporary club management tool is vital to the operations of a growing club; but also shed light into some areas that we currently have little oversight.

With that in mind our Board of Directors have decided to adopt a Club management tool called PlayMetrics. This tool will house almost all of the club’s main management/operating systems:

·            Team/roster management system (separate from your official NCYSA roster)

·            Revolutionize coach/player performance monitoring and development.

·            Field scheduling

·            Registration process and fee collection

·            Tryout process and evaluations

·            Serve as a single communication tool for club and individual teams

·            Team account management (via stripe debit services)

·            And much more

This notice is going out as an initial notification to club members first. In the next few days Social media posts will be released announcing the partnership between PGSA and PlayMetrics. It is important that you hear about this internally first.

With the adoption of this system comes changes. The planned roll out of the full features of the system will target the 2024 open tryout period (May 2024). The cost of the system will be covered by a modest technology fee to be explained further in a later communication. From now through Spring 2024 you will receive periodic updates leading up to go live of PlayMetrics. Everyone associated with the club (families, coaches, managers, and club administration) will be using the PlayMetrics platform and it will be imperative that all adopt its usage for it to have its maximum impact. We will have videos, information and a trained team available to help us with this implementation process.

It is exciting times to part of our amazing club. We have come a long way from our humble beginnings in 1986. With the changes that we adopt and the focus on continual improvement, we are solidifying our future for another 37 years and beyond.
